It is with heavy hearts that the Inclusion Saskatchewan community shares the passing of Gloria Mahussier, who served on our current board of directors and as President of Inclusion Saskatchewan from 2010-2021.
Gloria was a tireless supporter of the inclusion movement both here in Saskatchewan and around the world. She is remembered by many people and communities for her mentoring of others and volunteering for an inclusion event whenever she could. She provided leadership with Inclusion Saskatchewan, Inclusion Canada, and Inclusive Education Canada.
Gloria built relationships with people in the Inclusion Saskatchewan Family Network and served on the Valley View Centre Transition Steering Committee - a significant undertaking that helped people move from institutional living to homes in their communities.
For her efforts in championing disability rights, Gloria was presented with many honours, including the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal and the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
Bluesette Campbell, current Inclusion Saskatchewan President, reflected, “Gloria brought so many people into the work of Inclusion Saskatchewan and dedicated endless hours to improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.”
The Inclusion Saskatchewan Board and staff extend their deepest sympathy and condolences to Gloria Mahussier’s family.
