Want to know more about what disability supports are available in your area? Come to the Yorkton Disability Fair and learn about navigating the system from a variety of perspectives. A number of support agencies and providers will be on-hand to answer your questions and breakout sessions will be organized around specific topics.

Navigating the Early Years

A diverse panel of representatives from Early Childhood Education, The Family Resource Centre, and Children’s Therapy that will provide you with information about the supports available to families with young children who are experiencing disability. 

Navigating the School Years

The Good Spirit School Division, Christ the Teacher Catholic Schools, SACL, and Saskatchewan Ability Council will co-present on the supports available for students. Additionally, learn about the supports available during the transition from high school to life after high school.

Navigating Beyond the School Years

Learn about the services available for adults over the age of 18 who meet Community Living Service Delivery eligibility (IQ mandate). Saskatchewan Association for Community Living, Community Living Service Delivery, and Saskatchewan Abilities Council will provide information on Self Directed funding, day programs and residential options available in the Yorkton area.

Navigating Care for Your Family

Come learn about the available supports for the family members. Learn some ways to incorporate self care into your daily life. Additionally, learn about the importance of building a circle of support around you and your family.

 *Caregiving: Free caregiving is available during the event. Caregiving will be hosted in the Quality of Life Centre at the Saskatchewan Abilities Council. The Centre has lots of interactive games, sensory items and quiet space. Support staff will be present. Please email Nicole Graham at nicole.graham@sacl.org if you require caregiving. 

Support Agencies & Providers 

We will be featuring information booths from representatives from varying support agencies and providers throughout the fair. Interested agencies and providers can sign up to host a table for free. This will provide a great opportunity for your organization to network and connect with families and individuals from the Yorkton and surrounding area.
