This event coincides with the Inclusion Saskatchewan Family Conference & AGM. Join Inclusion Saskatchewan for a weekend of fun in Regina! The ICAN Self Advocate Workshop is on Friday, May 31st, and the annual Family Conference will be taking place Saturday, June 1st! Both events will be taking place at The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Centre in Regina. Friday, May 31st will feature the ICAN Self Advocacy Workshop. This workshop is for individuals aged 18+ who experience an intellectual disability and wish to develop leadership skills, talk about their lives, challenge barriers in their communities, and improve awareness of disability issues. This group holds 3 yearly events in various communities across the province. Saturday, June 1st will feature the annual Family Conference. The theme of the conference is "Planning for the Future". Presentations will include housing and financial planning. Following the conference will be a dinner and dance. The rough agenda for the weekend is as follows: Friday, May 31st- ICAN Self Advocacy Workshop 12:30pm-1:00pm- Registration 1:00pm-1:20pm- Opening Remarks 1:30pm-2:15pm- Presentation #1 2:15pm-3:00pm- Movement Break 3:00pm-3:15pm- Snack 3:15pm-4:00- The History of the Self Advocate Movement & Acknowledgments to past contributors 4:00pm-4:15pm- Break 4:15pm-5:00pm- Brainstorming session 5:00pm-5:30pm- Dinner 5:30pm- Check into hotel room 5:30pm- 7:00pm- Free time 7:00pm- Inclusion Meet & Greet- Moose Jaw Room 8:30pm- Presidential reception starts- Location to be determined Saturday, June 1st- Family Conference 9:30am-4:00pm- Family Conference Workshops 6:00pm- Dinner 8:00pm- Dance

------------------------------------- Hotel rooms: If you live in Regina or Moose Jaw or within 100 kms of Regina, you will be responsible for your own accommodations and we will not be providing hotel rooms. Anyone travelling over 100kms to get to Regina will be providing a hotel room. If you are travelling more than 5 hours to get to Regina we can provide a hotel room for Thursday, May 30th. ***Please note that all rooms are shared with someone of the same sex.**** Transportation: We know transportation can be challenging to figure out, and we don't want it to be a barrier to anyone attending. We will do our best to help you coordinate rides. Because this can be complicated, we ask that people register early if they need help with transportation. When you register there will be a series of questions to answer about your transportation needs! Please find your city below to see details about transportation: Regina: We ask that you do your best to find your own ride to and from the hotel. We encourage you to try looking at public bus transportation, carpooling, asking friends or family for a ride or booking access transit. Saskatoon: We will have shuttles leaving from the Inclusion Saskatchewan office on Friday, May 31st at 9:00am. Please indicate if you need to a seat on the shuttle in the questions when you register. Prince Albert: Depending on how many people are attending, we will be booking a chartered bus or having a van shuttle. Moose Jaw: We encourage you to try to find your own transportation to and from. Any other cities: Please contact Nicole Graham at nicoleg@inclusionsk.com before registering and we will work together to do our best to find transportation.
